Louis G. Beito, 68, of Greenbush, MN, died Saturday, September 29, 2007 at the Greenbush Community Nursing Home, Greenbush, MN.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at First Lutheran Church in Middle River, MN with Pastor Curt Natz, presiding. Casket bearers were Shon, Chad, Todd, Kevin and Howard Beito, Clark Majer, Mark Olson, Nate Oberg, Jason Ziemer, and Lance Loer. Louis's family considered all those in attendance as honorary casket bearers. Interment was at the Greenwood Cemetery in Strathcona, MN.

Louis Gilbert Beito was born on September 12, 1939 in Thief Lake Township, Marshall County, near Strathcona, MN, to Lennie and Violet (Keller) Beito, He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith at Gustav Adolph Church in Strathcona and attended Grass Lake country school of rural Strathcona. Following school Louis moved to Euclid, MN, where he worked for an area farmer for a short period of time fefore moving to the Hallock area, where he was employed by Keeney farms for two years.

He was united in marriage to Alice Moran in Hallock on June 22, 1963 and the two made their home in Hallock for a year and a half, before moving to St. Hilaire, where Louis worked for an area farmer. Louis and Alice then moved to Thief River Falls, where he was employed by the O & M Elevator and later at Arctic Cat Enterprises, where he was emplyed for 23 years. He and Alice moved back to Strathcona, where he worked for Harvey Hanson ad other area farmers until he was forced into retirement due to health concerns in the late 1980s. He continued to make his home in Strathcona until moving to Badger in 2000 and then entering the Greenbush Community Nursing Home in August 2007.

Louis was a member of Gustav Adolph Lutheran Church in Strathcona, a long time N.R.A. member and a long time very active member of Alcoholics Anonymous. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, four wheeling, spending time outdoors, and spending time with his family.

Louis is survived by one son, Jim (Junelle) Beito of St. Cloud; five brothers: Ernest (Doris) of Motley, Don (Karen) and Harold (Sandi), both of Wannaska, Kean (Lori) of Roseau and Eugene (Cindy) of Strathcona; one sister, Caroline Majer of Roseau; one step-granddaughter along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Alice; a step-grandson; sister-in-law, Donna Beito and brother-in-law, Clair Majer.
