Lydia Ann Pipes was born Lydia Ann Harrod. She is the daughter of Jacob Harrod and his wife Rachel Lydia Biggs. Lydia is the great-granddaughter of Revolutionary Soldier Levi Harrod, 1750-1825. (Find A Grave Memorial #23264654).

Lydia married Morgan Andrew Pipes, and they moved their family from Ohio to Siskiyou County, California in 1870. They are considered Siskiyou County Pioneers. Together they had five children: Adeline (LeMay), Laura Ann (Hartley)[#15963242], Jefferson Lee, Mary Alice (Cooley), and Blanche Jane (Hoffman).

She is buried in the Northwest Section, next to her husband Morgan A. Pipes and daughter Mary Alice Cooley. Headstone reads "Lyda H. Pipes"
