CLINTON - Leonard G. Scarlett, 87, of Clinton died Saturday (July 24, 2010) in OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, with Greg Taylor officiating.

Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Monday.

Burial will be at Camp Butler, Riverton, with military rites.

Memorials: Leonard Scarlett Memorial Fund.

Leonard was born Sept. 1, 1922, in Belleville, Kan. He was a member of Clinton United Methodist Church, Clinton VFW and AmVets Post 14. He is an World War II Army and Navy veteran. He married Virginia L. Harris in April 1994 in Decatur.

Surviving are his wife; daughter, Sheila Scarlett of New Jersey; sons, Michael (Debbie) Scarlett of Springfield, Ohio; Randall (Laura) Scarlett of Kilgore, Texas; John (Tonya) Kates of Decatur; stepdaughter, Hope Marie Harris of Clinton; grandchildren, Jennifer Scarlett, Amanda Scarlett, Heather Scarlett, Brittany Scarlett, Kimberly Scarlett, Cindy Scarlett, Cry Scarlett, Randie M. Loar, Derrick Schnitger, Savannah Kates, Cheyenne Kates, Lara Wallace, Kristen Scarlett and Greg Scarlett; stepgrandchildren, Isaac Winebrinner, Melody Winebrinner, Gregory Coins and Timothy Coins; 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara M. Scarlett; daughter, Linna Wallace; and granddaughter, Tracey Cameron.
