He was a maintenance supervisor for New Columbia Joist Co. and a member of Seibert Evangelical Congregational Church, F&AM Lodge 702 and Herndon Fire Company.
Surviving are his wife, Marlene Kahler Herrold; two sons, Steven of Herndon RD 1 and Thomas of Herndon; two daughters, Pam Hood and Kathy Herrold, both of Herndon; a brother, John of Sodus Point, N.Y.; eight sisters, Olive Trometter of Sunbury RD, Evelyn Trometter, Jean Walter, Betty Snyder, Margie Hovenstine and Sue Shrader, all of Herndon, Harriet Smith of Sunbury and Carol Zimmerman of Millersburg; and five grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in his church. Burial will be in Herndon Cemetery.
There will be no viewing or visitation.
