In about 1906 he married Caroline Carrie Thompson, to this union 6 children were born. After their marriage they lived in Mountain Grove Township, Wright, Missiouri and had their children.
With Carrie passing in 1915 he remained in Mountain Grove raising the children on his own.
In 1920 he and the children are still in Mountain Grove. Though the youngest is listed (wrong age) he is also on the 1920 census with his brother Robert Thomas and his family.
In 1930 he is in Clay, Douglas County with the children, his parents and sister Mary Ann "Annie" (who never married) living with them.
Have to hand it to him for keeping his children with him and not remarrying right away as was common back then, especially with children ranging from 8 years to 11 months at the time of his wife's death.
In his eighties he married Matilda Catherine "Tilda" Grogan, the widow of Edward John Preston and 2nd husband John Goodlo Ridens, in 1969. This is the only marriage I have found for him to of had after Carrie died.
