Mrs. Grace Amoss Shaw, 51, of Mount Airy, died Saturday, June 11, at Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late Thomas Joseph Shaw.
Born April 12, 1932, in Monrovia, she was a daughter of Clara Snowden Amoss, Mount Airy, and the late Stanley L. Amoss.
Mrs. Shaw was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church, Mount Airy.
Surviving, besides her mother, are one son, Victor A. Shaw; daughter-in-law Sheila L. Shaw; and three grandsons, Chad Michael Shaw, Nicholas Adam Shaw and Matthew James Shaw, all of Mount Airy; three sisters, Doris M. Gassaway of Mount Airy, Mary I. Gayner of Ellicott City, and Gail Giles of Mount Airy; nine brothers, Stanley L. Amoss Jr. of Baltimore, Earl R. Amoss of Mount Airy, Howard I. Amoss of Pennsylvania, Robert E. Amoss of Mount Airy, Richard L. Amoss of Detour, Kenneth R. Amoss of Damascus, Roy Amoss of Gaithersburg, Lloyd Amoss of Mount Airy, and Sgt. Norman Amoss of Panama City, Fla.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 14, at the Calvary United Methodist Church, Mount Airy. The Rev. John E. Ewald will officiate. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Shaw's name to the Calvary United Methodist Church Organ Fund, Mount Airy, Maryland 217771, or the Hospice of Frederick County, Inc., 12 S. Market St., Frederick, Md., 21701.
