Gays - Daisy May Buckley, 101, formerly of Gays and Sullivan, died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 1999, in the Odd Fellows Rebekah Home, Mattoon.

Mrs. Buckely was born in Cumberland County on May 1, 1898, the daughter of Johnathon and Emile Jane Coy McDermott.

She married Cecil Seeley in 1918 and he preceded her in death. She married Arnold Dee Buckley Buckley in 1932 and he preceded her in death in 1986. She was a member of Ash Grove Christian Church, a member of the Eden Rebekah Lodge, Windsor and associated with the Rhoda Rebekah Lodge, Sullivan. She was formerly a deputy sheriff of Manatee County in Bradenton, Fla., and formerly employed at the Shoe Factory in Mattoon.

Surviving are one son, James Buckley of Mattoon; daughter Hollice Yunker of Sullivan and Fern Thompson of Shumway; ten grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by one son, one stepson, two grandchildren and 13 brothers and sisters.
