Mrs. Emmanora H. Diggs, 78, Rt. 2, Frederick, died Monday, Nov. 27, at the Frederick Nursing Center. She was the wife of Walter F. Diggs, who predeceased her in 1962.

Born in Frederick County, Nov. 27, 1900, Mrs. Diggs was a daughter of the late James F. and Druscella Wade Hackey. She was a member of the Hope Hill United Methodist Church.

She is survived by four stepchildren, Clifton M. Brown of Rt. 2, Frederick, Roger Barton of Hagerstown, Mrs. LaVonne Bowie of Frederick and Mrs. Shirley Fowler, Catonsville; two brothers, Charles F. Hackey, Damascus, and Ernest A. Hackey, Jefferson County, Va.; two sisters, Mrs. Sarah J. Snowden, Jefferson County, Va., and Mrs. Florence E. Gray, Frederick; several nieces and nephews; and a devoted friend, Jesse Harris, Rt. 1, Ijamsville.

Friends may call at Stauffer Funeral Home, Motter Avenue Extended, Frederick, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 29. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday. Services will be held from the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 30. The Rev. Arnold F. Henry, First Heritage Church of Christ, will officiate. Interments will be in Hope Hill Cemetery.
