John Wesley Rue, 90, husband of the late Frances Ames Rue and a resident of Belle Haven, VA, passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2009. The son of the late Clarence A. Rue and the late Evelyn Rowley Rue, he was a retired farmer and a member of Epworth United Methodist Church.

Mr. Rue is survived by two daughters, Nancy Rue Long and her husband, Edwin, and Shirley Rue Wilson and her husband, Henry, all of Belle Haven; a brother, Vaughn T. Rue and his wife, Elizabeth, of Wilson, NC; a sister, Bettie Rue Gragnani and her husband, Lou, of Richmond, VA; five grandchildren, John Long and his wife, Janeen, Jesse Long and his wife, Melanie, Marion Long and his wife, Hether, Sara Wilson and Brian Wilson, all of Belle Haven; and six great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, Clarence Rue, and two sisters, Evelyn Shackleford, and Annabelle Welch.

A graveside service will be conducted Thursday, January 8, 2009, at 2:00 PM from the Belle Haven Cemetery with the Rev. Jack D. Pruitt officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Hospice of the Eastern Shore, 165 Market Street, Suite #3, Onancock, VA 23417 or to Shore Memorial Hospital Cancer Center, P. O. Box 17, Nassawadox, VA 23413.
