Clay Elwood Autery, Sr. was a native Texan, a lifelong law enforcement officer, and enjoyed gardening. Clay was preceded in death by one great-granddaughter, Jessica Nicole Thompson (in 1995). Survivors include his daughters, Pam Autery of New Braunfels and Rebecca Ferguson and her husband, Lucas, of Liberty; son, Clay Autery, II and his wife, Teresa, of Hanford, California; brothers, W. O. "Bill" Autery, Jr., M.D. and his wife, Eva, of Abilene and Major General C. Reuben Autery "Retired" and his wife, Charlotte, of Fair Oaks Ranch; and six grandchildren.
