Thomas is my 2nd great grandfather
We recently had a family reunion and were discussing the "K" is his name.
It has been determined that at some point in his life there was another Thomas Hatch in the area and to save confusion with the post office, he added the K as a tribute to his mother's maiden name of Karren.
