Services Conducted Yesterday and Interment at Elmwood.
The funeral of Mr. Harry Asbury, whose death occurred Monday morning at the Presbyterian Hospital following a week's illness, took place yesterday afternoon at 4 o'clock, at the home of North Brevard street. The services were conducted by Rev. Dr. E. K. McLarty, pastor of Tryon Street Methodist Church, of which the deceased was a member.
A large company of friends that more than filled the home were present to pay a last tribute to the memory of the deceased. The members of the Asbury Orchestra rendered a selection at the beginning of the service and afterwards a quartet composed of Mrs. Carrie Martin, Mrs. Frank Jones, Mr. John Watson and Mr. David T. Huyck sang "Nearer My God To Thee" and "Rock of Ages." They samg without accompaniment it being the desire of the family that the piano of the deceased remain closed. There was a profusion of beautiful flowers. Conspicuous among them was a large standing design in the form of a lyre made of white carnations and the following words in purple immortelels "Our Leader." This was from the Asbury Orchestra. A beautiful harp of pink carnations and roses was sent by the members of the Piedmont Orchestra.
The interment took place at Elmwood.
The friends of Mrs. Asbury, wife of the deceased, will regret to learn that she is very ill.
