McArthur was living in Ohio when he enlisted in the Marines 6 June 1966, at a Cleveland Recruiting Office.
Arriving in Vietnam McArthur was assigned to the 1st Platoon of Bravo Company, 3rd Tank
Battalion, 3rd Marine Division. McArthur was inside of a M-48A3, Tank B-11 that was fording a stream when the tank fell in a deep hole, 6 kilometers south of Danang. Unable to escape McArthur and another Marine drowned when the tank was submerged under water.
Tour of duty unknown.
Survived by his mother, Alma L Coleman and his brother, Donald Coleman of Route 3, Box 78 of Marion, Alabama.
His father, Elijah Coleman was deceased.
