D. M. Jacobs Services Friday

Funeral services for Darrell M. Jacobs, 76, of 903 E. Elm St., Crandon, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Halverson Funeral Home here. Rev. Theodore Kinne of Tomahawk will officiate and interment will be in Bent Cemetery at Bryant.

Mr. Jacobs died early Tuesday morning at St. Mary's hospital, Rhinelander. Visitation will be at Halverson Funeral Home after 4 p.m. Thursday.

The son of Madison G. and Ollie Jacobs was born Feb. 25, 1897 at Jacobs, Ky. He married Mary Cox on Sept. 2, 1924 at Elton, Wis. He worked as a millwright for a steel company in Muncie, Ind., and also as an insurance salesman. He was a member of Moose Lodge No. 33 at Muncie, Ind. and of the Golden Age Club and Wolfhead Sportsman Club in Crandon. He was a World War I veteran, having served with the U.S. Army. The Jacob's had made their home in Crandon since June 18, 1963.

Surviving are his wife, Mary, Crandon; a daughter, Miss Judy Jacobs, Crandon; five sons, Lyle of Dayton, Ohio; Donald of Hawthorne, Calif.; Darrell Jr. of Michigan; Willis of Richmond, Ind. and Michael of West Bend. He is further survived by two sisters, Mrs. Pearl Borusky of Deerbrook and Mrs. Minnie Groesch, of Springfield, Ill.; a brother Eugene of Antigo and 14 grandchildren. A daughter, four brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
