Glenn Hugh Lawson, 60, of Blanket, Texas, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, October 22, 2010, in a Brownwood hospital. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, October 24, 2010 at the First Baptist Church in Garden City with Rev. Koby Abney, pastor, officiating.

He was born on January 23, 1950, in Stanton, Texas to Hugh and Allene Lawson.

Glenn grew up in Stanton and graduated from Stanton High School. He graduated from Texas Tech and received his masters degree from Sul Ross. Glenn taught ag at Socorro, Texas and then at Robert Lee. He went to work for the USDA in the Soil Conservation, retiring in 2005. After retiring he moved back to Garden City.

Survivors include his son, Craig Lawson and wife, Kammi of Blanket; his mother, Allene Lawson of Stanton; two sisters, Suzie Hillger and husband, Duane of Garden City and Dorothy Smith and husband, Danny of Colorado City; one brother, Larry Lawson and wife, Melinda of Mexia; and two grandchildren, Elizabeth and Garrett of Blanket.

He was preceded in death by his father, Hugh Lawson.

The family suggests memorials be made to the First Baptist Church of Garden City, P.O. Box 292, Garden City, Texas 79739.
