Lucinda was the daughter of Lucinda and Samuel Boyer. She married Lafe A Emerine on December 25, 1896 in Mills County Iowa, at her home. Marriage License 4311, vol. 7, page 72. Lafe was the son of Rebecca and Thomas Emerine.

The 1900 US census shows Lucinda (Ella) living with her husband in Kane Twp., Pottawattamie County, Iowa. They have a daughter, Violet age 2. Her husband is listed as a teamster.

In 1910 they were living in Plattsville, Mills County, IA. Her husband is working as an operator.

By 1920 they were living in Crescent Twp on the Lincoln Highway. Living with them were children Daisy and Everett, both 18, and Della, age 11. By this point her husband, Lafe, is listed as a farmer.

Everett Emerine has conveyed the following:
Not long before Lucinda passed away she told me she had one hundred and eight descendents and three more were expected. She could name who each belonged to. For many years on her birthday she told us "I am going to live to be one hundred years old." She lived one hundred years and nine days. For forty one years she was a faithful worker for her church, until her eyes failed her.
