Mary Hess Rendleman, widow of Henry Rendleman, died 12 Mar 1889, at the residence of her son-in-law, S.H. Spann, aged 78 years, 7 months, 17 days, and was buried in Cobden Cemetery.
She was born 23 Aug 1810, in Rowan County, North Carolina, and came to Union County in 1818 with her parents.
She married Henry Rendleman on 15 Feb 1829. He died 16 Mar 1874. They had 16 children, seven dying in infancy and seven sons and two daughters survived her.
She left 41 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She was a member of the German Reformed Church and then joined the Congregational Church.
