Word came of the death, at San Diego, California, last Saturday, of Mrs. Effie Johnston Brandon, a former resident of Douglass. She had suffered a cerebral hemorrhage last Thrusday.
Mrs. Brandon, widow of the late Steve Brandon, of Douglass, spent the early part of her life here. Her parents were early residents. For quite a lot of years she spent part of her time here and part in the west, finally going to California several years ago.
Her parents were Alphus and Mary F. Johnston. He died in 1892 and she in 1925.
She leaves one sister, Mrs. Belle Johnston Buskirk of San Diego.
Her body is to arrive in Wichita at 1:15 a.m. Thrusday and will be broought to Douglass for burial. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Hilyard Funeral Home, with burial in the Douglass Cemetery.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles W. Buskirk and Miss Nola Johnston a cousin, are accompanying the body of Mrs. Brandon here.
The old Brandon home was where Mrs. Bertha Warner now lives.
