Stephen H. Brandon was born Nov. 20, 1851 in Lovelace, Tenn , the 12th child of Thomas M. and Dicy Hicks Brandon.
Stephen moved to Douglass in 1871 where he became a successful farmer and banker. He also served 3 terms in the state
legislature.
Stephen's first wife was Mary "Molly" Baskett, a sister of John Bernard Baskett.
He was buried October 11, 1924 in the Douglass Cemetery, Douglass, Kansas.
