He served in the medical corps during World War I. He was Chief of Eye Services for the Chester County Hospital for fifty years. Eleanor and Harry were the parents of six known children, namely:
1. Eugenia May Rothrock Heise (1900-1982)
2. Joseph Trimble Rothrock (1901-1985)
3. Henry Abraham Rothrock (1903-1982)
4. Addison May Rothrock (1903-1971)
