Services for Abe I. Bevans, 82, a retired farmer of rural Williamstown, who died Tuesday, February 19 in a Kirksville hospital were held Thursday at 3 p.m. in the Providence Baptist Church. The Rev. Emery Adams and the Rev. John Polk officiated. Burial in the church cemetery. Mr. Bevans was born in Clark County August 29, 1891, a son of Wm. B. and Carrie Guseman Bevans. He was a former presiding judge of the Lewis County Court and was a trustee and member of Providence Baptist Church. He married Linnie L. Glisan in 1912 in Canton. She survives, also a son Robert of Elsberry, four daughters, Mrs. Luch (Ola) Walker of Williamstown, Mrs. Ella Tompkins of Kansas City, Miss Hazel Bevans of St. Louis and Mrs. James (Lynn) Burke of Dumas, Texas, a sister, Mrs. Durward (Rhoda) Speer of Williamstown, a brother, John of Williamstown, and one grandchild.
