Linnie Bevans, 98, formerly of Williamstown, died Monday, Oct. 8, 1990, in the Knox County Nursing Home near Edina. Linnie L. Bevans was born March 28, 1892, at Derrahs. She married Abe Bevans in 1912, in Canton. He died Feb. 19, 1974. Mrs. Bevans was a member of the Providence Baptist Church near Williamstown since 1912. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Ola English of Canton, Ella Eompkins of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Hazel Bevans of St. Louis; a son, Robert Bevans of Palmyra; one granddaughter; three great grandchildren; and other relatives. She was also preceded in death by a son, a daughter, two grandsons; four sisters and two brothers. Funeral services will be held today (Thursday) at 2 p.m. in the Providence Baptist Church near Williamstown, conducted by the Rev. Hillis Prather. Music will be furnished by Robert Gooch with JoAnn Prather at the piano. Pall bearers will be Paul Bevans, Gilbert Humphrey, Alfred Hinton, Brian Munzlinger, Kent Munzlinger, and Norman Briscoe. Burial will be in Providence Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Providence Cemetery or Church.
