Clifford Parley Cunningham passed away, Friday, Oct. 15, 2010 in Provo, Utah. Beloved husband of Lou Thelma Atkinson (Sizemore) (Cunningham).

Clifford was born May 17,1926, in Fresno, California. When his father came up missing, his future stepfather had compassion on their mother, took her to a farm where he was working where she got a job as cook. After they were married, they moved to Fresno where they raised the family.

In his early years he lived in an era with potbelly stoves, one room schools, and radio programs such as Terry and the Pirates, Orphan Annie and the Lone Ranger. In the middle of the depression, at age nine, he was sent for two years to live at the Nutritional Home. Later he and his sister Leona lived with Aunt Beth. During the ward years, his sister got married when she was 13 years old. Clifford was away from home when his mother died of cancer in 1943. She was only 44. He was sorry he was not home for her at her demise.

Clifford met is first wife while working as a janitor in the Los Angeles Temple. Because of an operation, she was never able to have children. He cared for her for almost 40 years before she passed away in 2003.

Clifford was not afraid to learn and in 2004 he graduated from High School. Whenever visiting Clifford, he often commented on another book he was reading.

When Thelma came to Mayfield, Clifford and Thelma developed a loving relationship and in 2005 were married in the Manti LDS Temple and sealed to Thelma's three children as an eternal family. Having a family was always a source of great joy to Clifford.

He was fearless in bearing testimony and rightly so as he is a great-grandson of Parley P. Pratt. Clifford was always bearing testimony and was excited that because of his testimony, someone in the Senior Citizen's Apartments started to investigate the message of the Restoration.

He is survived by his second wife Lou Thelma Atkinson (Sizemore) (Cunningham) and children, his sister, Eunice May Hope Cunningham (Swearingen) (1920), step-sister Veda Smith (Epperson) (1930), and step-brother Raymond Smith (1937).

He is preceded by his father and mother, Clarence Clifford Cunningham (1889) and Aurelia Hope Pratt (Cunningham) (Smith) (1899), two sisters, Bernice May Cunningham (Gray) and Leona Fay Cunningham (Geise) (1923), step-father, Charles Milton Smith (1879), step-brother, Earl Milton Smith (1935), and first wife Artie Bernice Lowe (1917).

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2010 at 11:30 a.m., at the Gunnison Stake Center: 80 W Center Gunnison, Utah.
