Robert F. Arnold, age 84 of Austin for the last five years, formerly of Marysville, KS, Manhattan, KS, and Texas City, TX, died October 15, 2010. He was born in Marysville, KS on October 28, 1925.

Robert attended and graduated from junior and senior high public schools in Marysville, KS. He served in the U.S. Army and later graduated from Kansas State University in l949. He was a member ofTheta XI; K-State Alumni Association; active member of Christian Church in Marysville, KS, Manhattan.KS, Texas City, TX and Austin, TX.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Iris Arnold and parents M.E. and Blanche Arnold.

Survivors are brother and sister-in-law, Maurice E. Arnold and Helen, Tulsa, OK; daughters, Gail and Kirby Gorton, Houston, Julie and Glen Hertenberger, Austin, TX, Suzanne and James Jarboe, Frisco, TX; grandchildren, Bobby Arnold, Walter Hertenberger, Noel Hertenberger, Jessica Griffith, Jennifer Gibson, Janell Jarboe, Janis Gorton and John Robert Gorton; great grandchildren Breanna Arnold, Robert and Rhyan Arnold, Jordan and Jackson Gibson and Madelyn and Whitney Griffith.

Graveside services with full military honors will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Sunrise Cemetery in Manhattan, KS with Pastor Devin Wendt officiating. Family and friends are invited to meet at 1:30 P.M. Wednesday at the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home to form a procession to the cemetery.

The family of Mr. Arnold will receive friends from 7:00 until 8:30 P.M. Tuesday at the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home.

"Daddy was such an inspiration and a wonderful father who was always there for us and had high expectations for his girls and their husbands and families. He could always be counted on for a listening ear or a strong shoulder. He will be remembered fondly."
