Leesville - James Perry Steele Jr., 69, a farmer of Rt. 3, Leesville, died Monday at his home. He was a native of Lexington County, a son of the late J. P. Steele and Rilla Anderson Steele. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 4 p.m. at the First Calvary Baptist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Tommy Jumper, Olin Jumper, C. J. Taylor, Greg Taylor, Al Brown and Ryan Shealy. Surviving are hs widow, Mrs. Rose Katurah Steele; four sons, Robert Carroll Steele of Lexington, James A. Steele of Gilbert, Wyman R. Steele and Charles Ray Steele, both of Leesville; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Rose Smith of Lexington; and three sisters, Mrs. Lizzie Leaphart and Mrs. Isabel Adams, both of West Columbia, and Mrs. Cora Rauch of Columbia.
