Mrs. Rilla Anderson Steele, 83, of West Columbia, died Thursday at 11:55 a.m. at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Isabell Adams, at 319 Oliver St., after an illness of several years. She had lived in Lexington County for the past 60 years and was formerly of Saluda County. She was a member of the Riverside Baptist Church. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. J. W. (Coral) Rauch, Columbia, and Mrs. Troy (Isabell) Adams and Mrs. Elizabeth Leaphart of West Columbia; two sons, Thomas J. Steele of West Columbia and James P. Steele Jr. of Gilbert; one sister, Mrs. Mattie McCormick of Leesville and one brother, Fate Anderson of Leesville. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at the First Calvary Baptist Church near Leesville conducted by the Rev. H. E. Moseley, The Rev. Howard S. Price and the Rev. J. Glen Anderson.
