Wife of:
Arnold 'A.L.' 'Pete' Louvoris Beard
Mrs. Ruth Gay Beard, 75, of Gulfport passed away April 22, 2009 at Memorial Hospital at Gulfport.
Mrs. Beard was a Baptist and a retired school bus driver with the Harrison County Schools for over 30 years.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband of 31 years, A.L. "Pete" Beard, and one grandson, Roger Wood, Jr.
She is survived by three daughters, Ann (Gary) Pruitt of Brookhaven, MS, Janet Jeffrey of Gulfport, Laurie (Roger) Wood of Saucier; one son, Fred (Mary) Beard of Gulfport; nine grandchildren, Tricia Duren, Amanda Pruitt, Keith Wood, Jennifer Walker, E-5 USN Chad Jeffrey, Artie Breaux, Randy Beard, Curtis F. Jeffrey, Keri Cuevas; ten great-grandchildren, Jaycee Walker, Tyler Duren, Paislee Hoda, Curtis W. Jeffrey, Brandon Duren, Joanna Jeffrey, Reagan Wood, Jason Duren, Annalise Jeffrey, Angelia Jeffrey;
one sister, Lucille Walker of D'Iberville; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Switzer and Betty Switzer both of Gulfport.
Visitation will be Monday, April 27, from 10 a.m. to noon at Handsboro United Methodist Church followed by a Funeral Service at noon. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Gulfport.
Moore Funeral Home in Wiggins is in charge of the arrangements.
