Haruko Yoshioka, age 88 was called home by her Heavenly Father, October 10, 2010 of dementia. Born February 21, 1922, in Garfield, Utah to Kotaro and Sou Watanuki. Raised in Tooele, Utah, Haruko enjoyed many precious friendships, one lasting a lifetime to Betsey Bowen. Smart, kind, caring, hardworking, a loyal daughter, caring sister to Harold and Jack, attentive wife to Frank, and a truly loving mother plus an abundance of talents are just some of the attributes of an amazing individual. While attending Tooele High, Haruko showed a great gift for secretarial skills especially shorthand. After attending Stevens-Heneger College, she worked at Hill Air Force Base. Besides a keen mind for British mysteries and anything Public Television had to offer, Haruko was an avid reader. She also liked to visit California and get to know the people more than tourist's destinations. Her greatest gift though, was compassion. She loved to be generous to everyone she met. Survived by her daughter Barbara Yoshioka and cousin Reiko Imada of Salt Lake City, sister-in-law Chizuye Yoshioka, Santa Monica, California. Haruko would like to thank the family, friends, neighbors, teachers, and caregivers for literally making hers a wonderful life.
