The funeral of Mr. George Bowman, who died Jan. 24th, at the residence of his son, Jno. S. Bowman, was preached last Sunday morning at Spader's church, near Pleasant Valley, by his pastor, Rev. J . W. Hausenfluck, from the text, "For me to live is Christ and to die is gain," Philippians, 1st chapter, 21st verse. This service had been delayed on account of sickness in Mr. Bowman's family.
