Edward Roger Fentress, age 87, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Thursday, (October 15, 2020) at his home.

He was born on May 10, 1933 in Hudson, Kentucky the son of the late Vernell and Shellie Tucker Fentress.

Roger grew up in Hudsonville, KY. He graduated from Breckinridge County High School and Western Kentucky University to become a teacher and principal. He attended the Christian Church in Leitchfield, KY and was a former principal in Henderson County, KY. His passion was "horse trading", and his desire was to keep his word. His humble, hopeful, and humorous presence will be missed by many.

He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Emma "Hillis" Stone Fentress; two sons, Roger Kent Fentress (Alana) and John Edward Fentress (Linda); two step-sons, Randy Langley (Bonnie) and Rudolph Langley (Teresa); six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his older brother, Herbert Fentress; a sister, Louise Higgs; a wife of 50 years, Esther Lorene Jarboe Fentress; a daughter, Marilyn Louise Fentress; and a son, Wesley David Fentress.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, (October 21, 2020) at Dermitt Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Mt. Vernon Cemetery.
