Mrs. Shelia Jackson Priebel, 67, of White Bluff, a native of Dickson County, passed away Friday, Oct. 8, 2010, at Horizon Medical Center. She was a retired attorney and a U.S. Army veteran.

Shelia was a graduate of Nazareth Academy in Nazareth, Ky. She received a Bachelor of Science from Drury College in Springfield, Mo., and a Juris Doctor from the University of Detroit School of Law.

She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the St. Thomas More Society. She was a member of the Catholic Diocese of Nashville finance committee and St. Christopher finance committee. She was also a member of the St. Christopher Catholic Church.

Survivors include her husband retired Lt. Col. Al Priebel, of White Bluff; sons, LTC (R) Joseph F. Whelan Jr., of Knoxville, Col. (Dr.) USAF, Bill Whelan, of San Antonio,
Dr. Bob Whelan, of Evansville, Ind., and David Brent Whelan, of Miami; daughter, Margaret Carrie Hedden, of Tampa, Fla.; brother, Judge Andrew Jackson, of Charlotte; sisters, Ann Kelley, of St. Louis, Jane Daniel, of Dickson, and Maureen Dickson, of Oak Ridge; and 10 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. William M. and Margaret Phillips Jackson.
