OBITUARY:
Services for Joseph "Joe" Cochran, 91, were held at 11 a.m. last Friday in Moore's Memory Chapel. He died December 13, 1989. A native of Catoosa, he was born August 9, 1989. He was a Deputy Sheriff in Rogers County, U.S. Deputy Marshal, Tulsa Police Department for 22 years, and Tulsa County Deputy Sheriff. A member of Memorial Heights Baptist Church in Claremore, he was also a member of Masonic Lodge for 70 years and was a World War I Navy veteran. Survivors include his wife, Blanche, of the home, 1818 W. Ash, Claremore; two daughters, Christine Chouteau, Ft. Gibson; Carol Hart, Oklahoma City; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Lethie Hartwell of Long Beach, California and Gladys Stout of Claremore, and one brother, Watie Cochran of Catoosa. Interment was in Dick Duck Cemetery, Catoosa, under direction of Moore's of Tulsa. (Catoosa Times-Herald, December 20, 1989)
