OBITUARY:
Services were Saturday at First Baptist Church in Catoosa for Thelma Martindale, long-time Catoosa resident. Interment was in Duck Cemetery, under the direction of Kennard Funeral Service. Mrs. Martindale died Thursday night at the City of Faith Hospital in Tulsa. She was 71. She was born March 20, 1912 to George and Mary Cochran. She was a columnist for the Catoosa Times-Herald for 18 years and also for the Claremore Progress for several years, writing under the pen name, Thelma Blossom. She was founder of the Old-Timers Reunion in Catoosa, and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Her husband, Cecil, preceded her in death in 1978. Survivors are her son, John Martindale of Claremore; a daughter, Margaret Ann Nichols of Hattiesburg, Miss.; two sisters, Ruth Bridges of Catoosa and Sue Nell Willett of Tulsa; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
