COOKEVILLE -- Funeral services for Essie C. Bullington, 92, of Cookeville, were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 26, from the chapel of Whitson Funeral Home. Burial was in Howard Cemetery.
Mrs. Bullington died Saturday, Oct. 24, 2009, in NHC Healthcare of Cookeville.
She was born Aug. 16, 1917, in Putnam County to the late Claude and Harriett Griffin Luke. Mrs. Bullington was a homemaker and a member of the Baptist faith.
Her family includes a daughter and son-in-law, Jannie and Dean Worley of Cookeville; a brother, Billy Luke of Cookeville; a sister, Viretta Ashburn of Cookeville; seven grandchildren, Tara Moody, Tom, Jereme and Andrew Bullington and Mike, Jeff and Steven Worley; seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roley Bullington, and a son, Henry Bullington. Pallbearers were grandchildren.
Bro. Terry Geren officiated at the services.
