Blanche Nell Rittenberry Beck, 94, of Glendale, died Monday, Oct. 11, 2010, at Elizabethtown Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was a native of Decatur, Ala., and had retired after 33 years from Seagrams Distillery.

She was preceded in death by two children, Edward Lewis Boyd and Joseph Logan Boyd; her parents, Joseph Baxter and Katie Hazelip Rittenberry; five siblings, Harvey Rittenberry, Margaret Gullett, Ruth Humphrey, William Rittenberry and Cecil Rittenberry; and four grandchildren.

She is survived by two sons, Virgil (Clorine) Boyd of Elizabethtown and Eugene (Evelyn) Boyd of Cecilia; four daughters, Lois (William) Carter of Glendale, Geneva Badgett of Louisville, Nelceda (Larry) Miller of California and Yvonne Sims of Macon, Ga.; one sister, Bernice Anson of Frankfort; 28 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral is at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown with the Rev. Carlton Puryear officiating. Burial will follow in Hardin Memorial Park.

Visitation is from 3 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
