Edith Hershberger

SPRING GROVE - Edith R. (Glatfelter) Hershberger, 87, died at 9:35 a.m. on October 11, 2010, at Colonial Manor Nursing Home in York. She was the beloved wife of Francis S. Hershberger who died in 2004.
A funeral service in celebration and thanks giving for her life will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 201 S. Main St., Spring Grove, with the Rev. Daniel V. Biles III officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband following the service at Spring Grove Cemetery. A viewing will be held prior to the service from 9 to 10 a.m. in the church parlor. Family services are under the direction of Irwin-Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service, PC of Spring Grove.
Edith was born in Spring Grove and was the daughter of the late Harry Glatfelter and Sadie (Bortner) Glatfelter.
She was a life long member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. She was also a member of the church seniors group and quilters group, a member of the Spring Grove Historical Society and the Spring Grove Lunch Brunch.
She is survived by her sons, Larry F. Hershberger Sr. and his wife, Margaret of Hellam, and Donald A. Hershberger Sr. and his wife, Judith of York; her grandchildren, Larry Hershberger Jr. and his wife, Mary, Ann Linn and her husband, Kurt, Donald Hershberger Jr. and his wife, Kimberly and Keith Hershberger and his wife, Tracy; 12 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-granddaughters.
She is also survived by her sister, Marie Grimes.
