William Elmer Adams, who also went by the name W. Elmer Adams and Elmer Adams, was the second child born to Hugh and Elizabeth (Wilson) Adams. He grew up and lived most of his life in Findlay Township, Allegheny Co., PA. As an adult he engaged in farming. He married, ca. 1889 (they had been married 11 years in 1900) Mary N. Scott. They had two sons, Scott E. and Wilson Eugene, both of whom died in Ohio. Mary died in 1924 and William apparently sold the farm, because he was a boarder in the home of Howard and Mary Hamilton, still in Findlay Township, in 1930.
