Mr. Abraham Swanger, whose death occurred in Lurgan township last Tuesday, was an old and honored citizen of that township. What may be news to many persons of his acquaintance is that Mr. Swanger was born in Miami County, Ohio, on April 3d, 1811.
That state being an infant sister of the States. When he was six months old, his mother brought him on horseback to Lurgan township, where his life was principally spent. Mr. Swanger was a noted hunter in his day and many a bear, fox, raccoon, etc. fell victim to his unerring aim.
