Obituary - Riverton -- Our loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grand father, brother, uncle, and friend passed away from natural causes, incident to age, on Sunday, October 10, 2010, surrounded by his 10 children and loving wife.
Lewis was born January 30, 1928, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Mazle 'Q' and Lettie Rose Andrus King. Lewis lived in Idaho and Utah and graduated from Jordan High School in 1946. He served an honorable LDS mission in the North Central States Mission (1948-1950). Following his mission, Lewis served in the Korean conflict as Chaplain's Assistant.
On November 20, 1952, Lewis married his sweetheart DonaMae Butterfield in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Lewis loves the Lord and served in many callings in the LDS Church and served as an ordinance worker in the Jordan River Temple. Lewis' greatest love was his wife and family. He loved spending time with them.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Kent, son Prestyn, and granddaughter Kayla Mae.
Lewis is survived by his wife of 58 years, DonaMae; sister: Renee (Gary) Harris; sister-in-law Wanda King. Children: Jeffrey (Geri); Clayton (Jennette); Bryce (Lorna); Ryan (Chris); Tracy (Denise); Rachelle (Monte Jr.) Maynard; Darryn (Sharon); Kendra (Scott) Stromberg; Kelly (Julie); Alison (Brad) Knoles; 36 grandchildren, eight great grand children, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends and family may call Friday evening October 15, 2010, 6-8 p.m. at Broomhead Funeral Home, 12600 S. 2200 W., Riverton, Utah, or Saturday, October 16, 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to funeral services at the Riverton Utah Stake Center, 13400 S. 1900 W., Riverton, Utah. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at the Riverton Cemetery following military honors.
The family expresses sincere appreciation to the many nurses and others who helped care for Lewis, and to family and friends for their expressions of love and support.
