Adeen Frank Ezzell, 81, of Fort Smith passed away at home Friday October 8, 2010.
He was born January 23, 1929 in Strong City, OK.
He was retired from the U.S. Army and AFCO metals. He worked for the Defense Intelligence Agency as an Attache' Specialist, where he twice received the Joint Service Commendation Medal, one of the highest non-combat medals awarded, as well as numerous other awards and commendations. He was a member of the Greenwood Church of the Nazarene.
He was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Ida Mae Ezzell, his son, Gary D. Ezzell, and son-in-law, Harold D. Carruth.
Services were 12:30PM Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at Greenwood Church of the Nazarene, burial with full military honors was at the Fort Smith National Cemetery under the direction of Ocker-Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith, AR.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Betty and two daughters, Donavea Carruth of Lavaca, AR. and Deena Ezzell of Eagle, Co., and one daughter-in-law, Susie Ezzell of Marshall, VA. He is also survived by three brothers and their wives and families, Thomas and Lorraine Ezzell of Colorado Springs, Co., Don and Jorja of Tulsa, OK, and Bill and Lou of N. Richland Hills, TX. He was blessed with five grandchildren Natasha Ingram, Tonya Wright, Charles Ezzell, Michael Ezzell and Jeffrey Ezzell; and, two great-grandchildren, Madison Ezzell Ingram and James Ezzell.
Pall bearers were David Fugett, Leo Boozman, Harold Langley, Paul Sharp, Arlin Thrift and his grandsons Charles Ezzell, Michael Ezzell, Jeff Ezzell, Jeffrey Ingram and Jimmy Wright.
Honorary pall bearers were Pastor Bill Rohlmeier and Pastor Larry Taylor.
