Death of Prof. Alaska Eaton
Prof. Alaska Eaton, principal of the Mooresville schools, died at eight o'clock this morning at the home of his father, Joel Eaton, eight miles west of the city. Mr. Eaton had been in failing health for more than a year and was compelled to give up his school work.
Death was due to dropsical troubles. The deceased was born in this county and was graduated at the Danville Normal College.
He was married ten years ago to Laura J. Brown, daughter of W.J. Brown.
He taught school in this county at South Union and Stanford.
He leaves a wife, one sister, Mrs. H.T. Burch, of Fayettesville, and one brother, Charles Eaton, of this county. He was a member of the Methodist church.
The funeral will be held Saturday at ten o'clock at the house. In charge Rev. St. Clair, of Greenwood. The body will be intered at the Rose Hill cemetery.
