Solomon Bale born January 30, 1806 in Green County, Kentucky to Jacob Bale and Sapphia Shook. He married Nancy Edwards on June 22, 1826 in Green County, Kentucky. He moved to Menard County between 1830 and 1840 and then to Mason County by 1850 with Nancy and the children. They lived in Crane Creek, Mason County, Illinois near Havana. 1880 shows Solomon as divorced. It is believed that Nancy died and he married a Mrs. Sarah A. Gordon on May 29, 1877. She was a woman about 30 years his junior. It shows a woman names S. A. Bails as divorced in Havana. Solomon went on to Carroll County, Missouri and died there September 11, 1890 and is buried near Bogard in Ebenezer Cemetery.
