Although there is no found stone, family tradition and individual memory (Ida Bale, Jacob's relative) says that many of the Bales are buried here. Jacob came from New Jersey to Green County, KY and then on the Menard County where he ran and eventually owned the mill at New Salem during Abraham Lincoln's time there. Jacob was the son of the miller, Jacob Bale who died in Green County, KY.
