Matthew handled the estate because Abigail was unmarried, strongly indicating that Matthew was her father, because only the father would handle the estate of an unmarried daughter if she passed, unless the father was deceased also. But since Abigail was much too young to be a daughter of Abiel Heidt, she must have been Matthew Heidt's daughter.
