She was born Myrtle Belle Porter in Minnesota to Oscar and Harriet Porter. When her father died she was adopted by Mr. and Mrs. Frank Keeney of Howard City, Michigan.

She married Herbert V. Parker February 06, 1892 in Montcalm Co, Michigan. Children: George, Florence, Doris, Herman, Albert, Ernest, Clara, Cecil, Ethel, Harold. They lived in Montcalm, Newaygo, Charlevoix, Wexford, Antrim, and Wayne counties.

Myrrtle Keeney Parker Dies After Long Illness
Myrtle Porter Keeney Parker passed away at Meadow Brook hospital April 25, 1957. Mrs. Parker was born in Minnesota November 18, 1876. She came to Michigan with her parents at the age of two. Soon afterwards her father was killed and she was adopted by Mr. and Mrs. Frank Keeney of Howard City. In 1891 she was united in marriage to Herbert V. Parker of Sand Lake and to this union ten children were born, five sons and five daughters of which Ethel and Herman preceded her in death. Mr. Parker preceded her in death six years ago. There remains to mourn her loss Ernest and Harold Parker of Detroit; Mrs. (Cecile) Dan Harmon and Mrs. (Doris) Elra Hersha of Detroit; Albert of Davison; Mrs. (Clara) Henry Platt, Wilkinsburg, Pa.; George Parker and Mrs. Florence Zimmerman of Central Lake; several nieces and nephews. In 1912, Mr. and Mrs. Parker moved their family to Central Lake where they have lived since, except for a short time they lived in Detroit. Those from out of town to attend the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Elra Hersha, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Harmon, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Parker, Ernest Parker and daughter Sharon all of Detroit; Mrs. Henry Platt and family of Wilkinsburg, Pa., Mr. and Mrs. Zimira Zimmerman Hastings, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Oliver of Mt. Morris, Mrs. Harvey O'Brien and son Donald Elberta, Mich., Mrs. Garett McDowl and three children of Ortonville, Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Coleman and family, Kewadin, Mr. and Mrs. Percy Crothus and family Alden; Mr. and Mrs. Mike Fitzpatrick and family, Alden. Funeral services were held Sunday in the Diton funeral home. Burial in Southern cemetery. (Central Lake Torch, Central Lake, MI, May 2, 1957)
