H. V. Parker, 81 Passed Away
Herbert Vincent Parker, 81, passed away at his home in Central Lake, May 13 [1951], after an illness at about two months.Mr. Parker was born on May 21, 1870 at Muir, Michigan. He spent his childhood in Newago, Michigan. In 1892 he was married to Myrtle Keeny, coming to Central Lake in October 1912 from Detroit. He was a farmer by occupation. Ten children were born to this union, a daughter and son preceded Mr. Parker in death. Surviving beside his wife are the following sons and daughters; George H. and Mrs. Florence Zimmerman of Central Lake, Mrs. Henry Platt of Pittsburg, Pa, Albert of Battle Creek, Ernest , Harold, Mrs. Doris Hersha and Mrs. Dan Harmon all of Detroit, also one brother Bernard Parker of Grand Rapids. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon, May 16 at 2 p.m. in the Diton Funeral Home. Rev. Findlay Holborn of God's Light House Mission of East Jordan was in charge of the services. Friends and relatives from away to attend the funeral are: Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Parker, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Parker, Mr. and Mrs. Elra Hersha, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Harmon of Detroit; Mr. and Mrs. Percy Crothers of Alden; Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Coleman, Kewadin; Mr. and Mrs. Z.
