Services for Hobart Thrasher, 85, were held at the First Baptist church Saturday afternoon with the Rev. Houston Garner of the Hebron Baptist church and the Rev. Joe Dan Fowler of the First Baptist church officiating.

Burial was in Oak Hill cemetery directed by Mullican-Little Funeral home of Bells.

Mr. Thrasher died in the Medical Plaza hospital at Sherman Thursday, May 13, 1982.

Mr. Thrasher was born in Clinton county, Kentucky, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Thrasher. He married Donia Means March 9, 1916, in Whitewright.

He was a member of the First Baptist church and a retired cotton gin employee. He was a long-time resident of Whitewright.

Survivors are his wife, two sons, Jack Thrasher of McKinney and R. C. Thrasher of Grand Prairie; four daughters, Mrs. Jimmie Anderson, Mrs. Clarence Bonds and Miss Mary Lou Thrasher, all of Whitewright and Mrs. Calvin McKnight of Euless; three brothers, Ben Thrasher of Hutchinson, Kan., Roy Thrasher of Grove, Okla., and Clyde Thrasher of Gainesville, Ga., one sister, Mrs. Grover Brown, of Whitewright, 10 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
