Benjamin B. Thrasher, 83, died Dec. 27, 1984, at Hutchinson Hospital. Born May 30, 1901, at Albany, Ky., he married Esther Schroeder April 17, 1936, in Harrisonville, Mo. He was a retired painter and had been a longtime Hutchinson resident.

He was a member of the Christian Church, AFL-CIO #397 Hutchinson and served in the armed services prior to World War II.

Survivors: wife; sons, Wayne and Clifford; daughters, Karen Bertrand, Cheryl Bowman, Jeannie Price and Marieta Brewer; and brothers, Roy and Clyde; and a sister, Nina Brown.
