George John Albers is the son of Bernard and Maria Gesina (nee Suhl) Albers. Baptized at St Anthony of Padua 17 December 1893,Sponsors were Gerhard Breer and Margaretha Suhl. Married Ludmilla Agnes Kalny at St Anthony of Padua November 26, 1919. Their driver was George Wingbermuhle of the now closed Wingbermuhle Funeral Home In St Louis, Missouri on South Grand Avenue. Note: Of interest is that my Grandparents were able to celebrate the First National Thanksgiving Day on November 27, 1919 together.

It is so written in the archives of History that Woodrow Wilson XXVIII President of the United States so made the following November 8,1919 Proclamation #1539 - Thanksgiving Day, 1919.

Wherefore, I, Woodrow Wilson, President of the United States of America, Hereby designate Thursday, the twenty-seventh day of November next, for observance as a day of thanksgiving and prayer by my fellow-countrymen, inviting them to cease on that day from their ordinary tasks and unite in their homes and in their several places of worship in ascribing praise and thanksgiving to God the Author of all blessings and the Master of our destinies.

My grandfather was a WWI Veteran fighting in France.
