Earl S. Tannahill was born November 13, 1898, in Osage County Oklahoma and died October 31, 1942 being accidentally killed while working at Moor's Shipyard in Oakland, California.

He is survived by his wife Ellen Kathleen Tannahill, two children at home Bobby Gene, age 9, a step daughter Mildred Kay Jett Age 5, three sons Sargent Loren V. Tannahill, U. S. Marines, New River, North Carolina, Hubert and Wayne Tannahill of Lewiston, Idaho, two daughters, Earldean and Roxie Mae Tannahill of Lewiston, Idaho, his mother Sarah Rachel Tannahill of Pawhuska, Oklahoma, father John L. Tannahill of Lewiston, Idaho, five brothers, Pvt. Sam and Pvt, George Tannahill of Camp Roberts, California, William and Theodore Tannahill of Fairfield, Illinois and Richard Tannahill of Lewiston, Idaho. Two Sisters, Mrs. Clark Panther of Pawhuska, Oklahoma, and Mrs. S. J. Stewart of Lewiston, Idaho. He leaves a host of other relatives and friends.

He professed faith in Christ at the age of twelve. He is missed by all who knew him.

Blessed be the dead who die in the lord.

Funeral Services were held in Patoka Monday afternoon, November 9 at 2 o'clock. Pall bearers were John Slagel, Glen Lowery. J. O. Donegan, Ross Leard, R. C. Leeper and K. D. Keister. Internment was in the Patoka Cemetery.

All of the above mentioned relatives attended the funeral with the exception of Richard Tannahill and Pvt. Sam Tannahill.
